What is a Honduran Curly Hair Tarantula?

The Honduran Curly Hair Tarantula (Grammostola pulchripes) is an arachnid belonging to the Theraphosidae family. Native to the tropical rainforest of Honduras, it is one of the most popular species of tarantulas kept as pets. They have a typical tarantula appearance, with a thick black body and eight hairy legs. They can reach a size of 5.5 - 6 inches in body length, with a leg span of 7 - 8 inches. The Honduran Curly Hair Tarantula requires a fairly large enclosure for its size. A 10-12 gallon aquarium or a terrarium with screen lid is suitable.
