Washing and Conditioning

Curly hair needs extra care when it comes to washing and conditioning. To keep your curls looking their best, use a gentle sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Start by wetting the hair thoroughly and then working the shampoo in from root to tip. Rinse well and then apply conditioner from the mid-lengths to the ends. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water. Remember not to rub the hair when you rinse it, as this can cause it to tangle or frizz.

Deep Conditioning

A deep conditioning treatment is a must for curly hair. This will help keep the curls hydrated and reduce frizz. You can either buy a deep conditioner from the store or make one at home using natural ingredients such as coconut oil, avocado, and honey. Apply the conditioner to the hair and leave it on for at least 20 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Do this once a week for best results.

Styling

Styling curly hair can be a bit tricky. To get the best results, you need to use the right tools and products. Start by towel-drying the hair and then apply a curl-defining cream or gel. Use your fingers to scrunch the curls up and then blow-dry on a low setting. You can also use a diffuser attachment for extra volume. For extra hold, you can use a light-hold hairspray.

Protective Styling

Protective styling is a great way to keep your curls looking their best. Opt for styles such as braids, buns, or twists. This will help reduce the amount of heat and styling products used on the hair and also keep it out of the way. Protective styling can also help reduce the amount of mechanical damage caused by brushing and combing.

Nighttime Routine

At night, you need to do something to keep your curls looking good. The easiest way to do this is to put it up in a pineapple-style bun. This will help keep the curls from getting tangled while you sleep. You can also use a silk or satin scarf or bonnet to help keep the curls hydrated and reduce frizz. In the morning, you can take out the bun and shake out the curls for a fresh look.

A good hair care routine is essential for curly hair. Make sure to follow these tips for the best results and to keep your curls looking their best.
