How To Make Your Hair Curly With A Straightener
Step 1: Prepare Your Hair
The first step to making your hair curly with a straightener is to prepare your hair. Start by washing your hair with a gentle shampoo and conditioner and towel drying. Make sure your hair is completely dry before using the straightener. If your hair is wet or damp, the heat can damage your hair. After towel drying, use a heat protectant spray or cream to help protect your hair from the heat. Once the spray or cream is applied, comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb to make sure it’s free of tangles.
Step 2: Section Your Hair
Once your hair is prepped, the next step is to section it. Start by parting your hair down the middle. Then, section your hair into four sections. Use hair clips to clip back each section of your hair. This will help keep each section of your hair separate and make it easier to curl.
Step 3: Curl Each Section
Once all of your sections are clipped back, it’s time to start curling your hair. Take a small 1-inch section of your hair and wrap it around the straightener. Hold the hair in place for a few seconds, then release the straightener. Repeat this process for each section of your hair, making sure to curl all of the sections in the same direction. Depending on the type of curls you want, you can hold the hair in place for longer or shorter amounts of time. For tighter curls, hold the hair in place for a few seconds, and for looser curls, hold the hair in place for a few seconds less.
Step 4: Set The Curls
Once all of your hair is curled, it’s time to set the curls. Use a hairspray to help hold the curls in place. Apply the hairspray to each curl and gently scrunch the curl with your fingers. This will help the curl keep its shape and last longer. If you want extra hold, you can also use a curling wand or a curling iron. This will help the curls stay in place for hours.
Step 5: Style Your Hair
Once your curls are set, the final step is to style your hair. You can leave your hair as is, or you can use a brush or comb to style it. For extra body and volume, use a teasing comb to backcomb the curls. You can also use a styling cream or wax to create a more defined look. Once you’ve finished styling your hair, you’re all set. Your hair is now curly and ready to show off.
